The Fattoria dell’Orto degli Ulivi organizes yoga classes, reiki and sound healing, along with a delicious vegan menu, all foods grown on the farm … in harmony with Nature..

Our Farm is part of the Tuscan Association of Biodiversity & Agriculture. We promote Nature and work with Nature in the name of relaxation and fun!
It’s easy to make day trips from Florence to visit our farm as well as the surrounding forests. Our local train station is ‘Sieci’ (easy to access on the local/regional train from the central station of Florence SMN). After your excursions, we will invite you to taste our various handmade farm products and/or enjoy lunch, from starter to main course to post-meal digestives, all cooked by Lara who sources every ingredient from the farm. The farm is available for organizing workshops and retreats themed in holistic healing and wellness, such as yoga, reiki, sound healing and other healing arts. Any modality with the primary objective of RELAXATION IN NATURE is welcome here. Activities like making a bouquet of herbs or taking a lesson on how to make soap using vegetable-based oil and lavender, or creating some art with wild flowers, or learning to construct wooden chairs with us … there’s always something new to discover!

EDUCATION ON THE FARM

Our education and training efforts are aimed at adults and children. We find that our students are inspired by the educational activities we offer because they promote direct, hands-on learning and spontaneity in nature.

Our educational philosophy at the Fattoria dell’Orto degli Ulivi (Olive Garden Farm) is to allow children to discover, appreciate and fall in love with Nature in its many expressions. We have found that the most effective teaching practices are to allow students to explore and express themselves freely. There is something to learn under every stone and at every encounter with the farm’s animals and plants. We form our educational programs with the students, teachers and parents who want to participate in our educational activities.
Children are invited to feed our ponies, Clement and Emma, and our goats: Toto, White and Alice. Younger children are invited to participate in painting workshops with the natural colors of the countryside and older children can build their own beautiful herbarium. Students of all ages can participate in garden activities such as collecting seeds, recognizing aromatic herbs, and harvesting lavender, fruit and olives. Or they can put their hands in the dough during one of our cooking workshops, where the little ones can learn to knead bread dough made with eggs freshly harvested from our chickens and flour from our fields.

PARTIES AND WEDDINGS

You can celebrate the most important days of your life on our farm, such as birthdays, communions, and weddings. We also invite you to participate in any of our rural agricultural festivities.

The farm has a characteristic landscape of the Tuscan region, which makes it an ideal setting for a wedding or a special event with family and friends. Whether your event is large or small, whatever your culinary preferences, we are prepared to create a memorable event for you highlighted by our delicious cuisine.

COOKING CLASSES

Rediscover the flavors of the past through ancient recipes from Tuscan grandmothers. The secret is mastering simple recipes and using the most seasonal, fresh and authentic food of the countryside.

Fattoria Dell’Orto degli Ulivi is a place where ancient traditions are still alive. Lara prepares her own interpretations of traditional dishes such as “Handmade Pasta“, “Five Grain Bread“, “Pasta made with Fresh Herbs“, all of which come from her grandmother Bruna’s recipes. The farm is committed to practicing organic and biodynamic methods. We allow our to chickens to roam ‘free-range’ in the orchard and they help control pests and fertilize the field at the same time. We allow our sheep to graze freely throughout the farm and they keep the grass short in the vineyards and olive groves thus contributing to the maintenance of our healthy soil. We harvest our vegetables and fruits for consumption both fresh and preserved. We transform them into tasty sauces and jams, both sweet and savory, that can be enjoyed on and off the farm!!! We produce our own extra virgin olive oil, biodynamic wine, extra virgin olive oil soap, lavender, jams and marmalades, which we sell all over the world!!!
